So many of you have already helped us to welcome a new member of the editorial team, Matilda Johnson, on Twitter, but there is one personal endorsement we’ve saved for today, her first day on the job.
Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. – Roald Dahl
Even Mr Dahl is singing her praises! Here are some words from the strong young mind herself:
I’ve always been a greedy person – especially when it comes to cheese – and so I think this new role is going to suit me down to the ground. Not only will I work closely on the Templar fiction list, but I’ll also be commissioning new titles for Piccadilly Press and Hot Key Books. In a word, yum! I love working on stories for readers of different ages and on varying styles of books and writing – (yup, greedy) – so I think the mix of books here will be right up my street.
Before now I’ve had the pleasure of working with the teams both at David Fickling Books and Random House Children’s Publishers, and on books by astonishingly talented creators. I already know some of the Hot Key staff pretty well, but I am a huge fan of the lists I’ll be working on, there is a great atmosphere in the office and the team has real personality – so I know it’s going to be great fun settling in. I really can’t wait to get started.
In fact, I better crack on!
